After the huge success of the first film about people lost in a mysterious cube, there was an avalanche of films "cubo-like." None of them matched the original, although the same potential, which carried with it the idea would be enough to "feed" at least hundreds of subsequent production. So great hopes associated with the official second part of the "Cube", believing that, in accordance with the subtitle would be to the power of entertainment.

On hope but ended ....

The story is standard. More people wake up in the mysterious construction of asking "how I got here." In the original, the answer to this question to us, the audience has not been granted. In the sequel, however, already we know more facts, and what goes with it, the atmosphere of mystery and misunderstandings quickly evaporates. There is, however, decided to continue the defeat. Screenwriter apparently wanted to break the original terms of the number of sudden twists and turns. And those in the "Cube 2" really is missing. But the problem is that they are extremely forced and guided toward the same story apparent absurdity. Subsequent events are arranged in a string of inconsistent and illogical. The very end, in turn, seems to explicitly deny what we saw earlier on the screen. Already after the first session I discovered many holes in the script. Sometimes it just seems that the developers wanted to force complicate the story, which consequently at some point it seems simply bizarre, almost comical. In the case of the first "Cube" behind the facade of an action movie he hid a solid psychological thriller. In a continuation of the build interesting psychological portraits abandoned. filmfunbox The characters are boring, one-dimensional, and so it is very difficult for us to identify with them.

Continuation is therefore only sci-fi cinema devoid of attempts to smuggle some deeper content. Budget "Cube 2" was quite big, which unfortunately can not be felt on the screen. Special effects are extremely underdeveloped, an example of which may even be the scene of crushing the glasses by a mysterious machine. All computer-generated effects, which, unfortunately, can be seen. But it could not be otherwise, since these sequences are presented on a background of white walls of the cube title. "Cube 2" fails in almost every aspect. A pity, because the potential stuck in the idea and the name of the director, it was pretty big. Too bad that came out of this crap ... squared. .
